Same here, flavour is good but it became a melted mess in the pan. As usual, I figured that I had done something wrong. Tried it again with same results.
My vegan guest took leftovers home to make toasted sandwiches from it which it will be perfect for.

In reply to Miriam Engelbert. Hi Miriam, we didn't press the tofu beforehand. The moisture in the tofu helps with adding moisture to the halloumi.

Hi Allison, being Cypriot, I was excited to see how this worked out, so I made it this weekend. Hats off to you for your bold attempt. I thought I followed the recipe carefully, but mine did not come out very firm, It’s firm enough to slice, but softens, but mashes on pressure. When heated it softens more, and nearly melts. Any suggestions? Should I put more agar powder? The flavor is good, but not really halloumi flavored. I have loved all your vegan recipes. I think you’re probably the best site with the most authentic and tasty dishes. Thank you, and keep experimenting!

This is just what I’ve been waiting for! I love Halloumi and being vegan, it is something that I have missed constantly. Thank you for this out of this world recipe, Alison!
